PUMA HACKED
I had the pleasure to direct a series of films for PUMA Football, with some of the greatest soccer players around: Marco Reus, Antoine Griezmann, Luis Suárez, Sergio Aguero and Romelu Lukaku. The campaign promoted their new HACKED line of boots and the films highlighted the glitchy texture on the boots, that spreads around the scenes to create crazy effects and weird situations involving each player.

ESU AND THE UNIVERSE

“Esu and the Universe” is a documentary about religious freedom and the influence of the African Yoruba people, in Brazil and around the world. Esu was a sacred African god for thousands of years but today, after over 300 years of slavery, Esu is seen on late night TV shows, during live exorcism sessions as televangelists send him “back to hell”. How can Esu be both worshiped as a god and hated like the devil? The film is a poetic excursion into the universe of Esu and the historical struggle against forces that insist in demonizing Yoruba culture and their people - but also how, despite being on the brink of extinction, it resisted and started to flourish around the world.

La Flaca is a film about Arely Vazquez, a transgender woman and leader of the Santa Muerte (Saint Death) Cult in Queens, New York. During her yearly celebration to the Bony Lady ("La Flaca" as she likes to call her), Arely faces a lot of challenges to fulfill a promise she made ten years ago.
